June 30, 2025 | Sorsogon City
The Department of Education – Sorsogon City Division has officially launched its Gender and Development (GAD) Page on June 30, 2025, as part of its commitment to promoting gender-responsive education and enhancing transparency in governance.
The initiative, spearheaded by George D. Paguio, GAD Focal Person, and Francis L. Lanuza, Information Technology Officer, was funded through the GAD Fund. It aims to establish a centralized and regularly updated digital platform for all GAD-related programs, policies, and activities within the division.

The GAD Page is part of the division’s compliance with Republic Act No. 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, and other GAD-related mandates such as the PCW-DILG-DBM-NEDA Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2013-01. It features key resources including GAD policies, upcoming activities, project proposals, gender statistics, and stories that highlight inclusive practices in the education sector.
The development of the GAD Page was introduced on March 31, 2025 during the Special Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting held at Mai’s Resort and Hotel. The meeting, attended by division leaders and school heads, also marked the culmination of Women’s Month and underscored the importance of sustained GAD advocacy across schools.
Through this digital platform, DepEd Sorsogon City aims to:
- Promote awareness and understanding of gender equality;
- Provide accessible and updated GAD information to stakeholders;
- Provide platform for school GFPS to publish GAD articles;
- Support compliance with national mandates; and
- Strengthen community involvement in gender-responsive education.
The GAD Page is now accessible via the official DepEd Sorsogon City website, serving as a key step in integrating gender perspectives into education policies, planning, and public engagement.
